Saturday we were going to go to Magic Kingdom, but Scott's hand was still really sore. He was afraid to be out all day without being able to put ice on it and he had caught Madison's cold, so he decided to stay at the hotel while the girls went to The Magic Kingdom. I wish he had been able to come with us, but it was nice to have a day with my mom and Madison. We had a great time. It was hot out (low 90's), but not unbearable. Most of the lines and rides were either in the shade or partially inside. And it wasn't too crowded. The longest line we waited in was 40 minutes and most were 15-20 minutes. We got to the park about 10am and headed to the monorail, after getting thru the gates we stopped and took a couple pictures in front of the train station and the Mickey bushes.

We then hit a couple of the stores on main street and Madison got some Minnie shades. We didn't even realize until we bought them that they open up. Kinda silly, but cute!

Mommy and Madison on Main Street with the Castle in the background!
As we went approached the Castle there was a performance on the stage, so we stopped and watched it. We were able to get pretty close. We only got to see the last couple of minutes, but Madison really seemed to enjoy it! There were characters and dancers, music and singing. She was enjoying it all, until they shot off a few fireworks. The loud noises made Madison cry.
The first ride we went on was A Small World, but I didn't get any good pictures. Then we had some lunch and then went on the Jungle Cruise. We didn't go on it last time, but I thought she might like it with all the animals and she did!
Madison and Grandma being silly while waiting in line to go on the Jungle Cruise.
Madison checking out the "animals" on the cruise.
"Look over there, Grandma!"After we got off the Jungle Cruise Madison took about an hour nap in her stroller. Since it was so hot outside I wanted to find a place inside I could take her to nap. So we walked from Frontier Land back up to Main Street and walked through some shops. We then decided to get some ice cream. Just as we were finishing up our snack Madison woke up and seemed refreshed and ready to continue on.
Outside of the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. She didn't have much of a reaction to it, but Mommy and Grandma liked it!
On the People Mover in Tomorrow Land with Grandma. As we were passing through a dark spot where you can see Space Mountain the ride came to a complete stop. It was pitch black in there, and Madison started to get a bit fussy. They made an announcement and said it would resume in a couple minutes and they put on some small security lights. Luckily it only took a couple minutes and we were on our way. Madison really enjoyed sitting in the seat by herself on this and the other rides. If we tried to put her on our laps she would say sit and point to where she wanted to sit by herself like a big girl. And when she was sitting on her own she looked so proud of herself! So independent!

Teacups! We said we wouldn't spin it, but while I was filming Madison on the ride Grandma started spinning it. Madison seemed to like it and even helped spin our teacup! The first video shows her looking out the teacup. She sat this way most of the ride. And the second video shows her spinning our cup!
Next we went to Toon Town to meet some characters. Our choices were Princesses of Fairies. The line for Princesses said 45 minutes and the Fairies said 60 minutes, so we went with the shorter wait time. It ended up being more like 25 minutes. This was her first time being up close with any of the characters, so I thought princesses would probably be less intimidating than a big fuzzy masked animal. She was hesitant, but she did pretty well. She never really smiled, but she didn't cry! The Princesses were all so good with her, and as we left each one I heard them all say how cute she was.
Madison with Sleeping Beauty. I love Aurora's princess pose.
I think Cinderella was Madison's favorite!

Ewe- ketchup on grapes! Your experience at DW seemed more positive than ours. I highly dislike lines. A new Ariel attraction - oh boy! That Aurora pose is hilarious! her arm must ache at the end of the day!
