Hayride in the Corn Fields

Saturday night the Whitehead reunion continued on to the Barr Farm for dinner, entertainment, volleyball and a hay ride. When we got there the "entertainment" had already started.  Various members of the Whitehead family (mostly the kids) had prepared skits, songs and dances. Madison especially enjoyed seeing her friend that she had met the night before, Kira, preform a dance.  After the performances we socialized a bit, Madison played on the swing set and then we had a huge dinner (there were about 135 people there!). After dinner was the event I was most looking forward to...the hayride! They had two tractors pulling trailers lined with hay. We got on the first one, which turned out to be a good decision.  The second tractor was right behind ours on a dirt road, and we were kicking up a lot of dust.  We got dusty, but it had to of been less than the people on the other one.  They took us down their dirt road and then we pulled off into a corn field where we wound our way around the fields.  As we were approaching the road there were some sniper watergun shooters that got us wet.  On the road back to the farm we also got to see a pretty sunset over the rolling hills. A great way to end a fun day!

Did Madison understand that the corn was the same corn she loves? The hayride sounded like fun, especially the first tractor!

The picture of Madison waving to the other tractor is beautiful! and I like the one of her and Carla's feet on the swing. Kira reminds me of your niece. I can't believe how much taller your corn was than the corn we saw in June in IL. I would have loved to just eat it off the stalk. The IL corn wasn't near ready for eating, but when you can get it, its oh so good. Sounds like a great turn out for the reunion.
