Good Bye to the Beach

Friday July 2nd was our last day at the beach. We had to be out Saturday morning by 10am, so it doesn't really count. We had our normal fun at the pool during the day, soaking up our last bits of sun. Friday night we all went to Cheeburger Cheeburger. For those of you who have never been it's a great family restaurant! The best part is they have over 100 flavors of milkshakes! So yummy! Above Madison eating her kid's meal from her classic car, too cute! And below Madison enjoying my Oreo milkshake.

Along crayons their kid's menus come with stickers too! Madison loves stickers. Here Madison is placing her beach themed stickers on a beach scene.

After we got home from dinner we went for one last walk on the beach. My Aunt Sharon and Uncle Al had been staying at another condo about a mile down the beach. So we walked (Madison rode in her 3-wheel stroller) down there to see them and my cousins Kelley and Kevin and his family. It was sprinkling most of the walk there, but it was very light.

The three cousins ready for one more walk on the beach!

Daddy and Madison. She was happy on the beach in her stroller.

Sanibel Island is known for it's great shells.

Being silly with 2 of 3 of Kevin's girls (the youngest Alexa, refused to take a picture). Taylor, Kailey, Madison, Lauren, Emma.

Then I asked them to be sweet and this is what I got!

The wind in her hair...

Family gathering on the beach.

Madison and Daddy playing peek-a-boo around the stroller.

Another cool stormy sky. Uncle Al is in the blue shirt in the distance.

Grandma, Madison, Lauren.

The other girls went up to Aunt Sharon's condo except Lauren and Madison (Taylor spent the night there with her cousins). Lauren LOVED pushing Madison around in her stroller!

On our walk back to our condo we saw several dolphin playing in the Gulf! So amazing. We tried to point them out to Madison, but I don't think she actually saw them. On the return walk Madison also asked to get down and walk. She walked on the beach, with water shoes, without complaint until we got to our walkway. The sand by the water is fairly firm and the farther you get from the water the softer it gets, and Madison doesn't like walking in the softer sand at all. Too bad she didn't start to tolerate the beach until the end of our last night!

As we were walking up to our condo we saw this bunny right in front of our backdoor. We had seen him a couple other times throughout the week, but this was the longest he was out.

Overall we had a great week. It was nice to be at the beach and pool and best of all it was great to be with family! We can't wait until next year!!

My favorite picture from this bunch is 'wind in her hair.' Yay for finally tolerating a walk on the beach :) I'm sure she'll love it next year.
